Ar. Sathya Prakash Varanashi is among the known names in architectural education today, with experiences in starting a Dept. of Architecture; visiting different schools inspecting them for accreditation; advising NIASA on excellence in thesis; speaking in seminars on pedagogy; addressing national and regional students events and such others. As such, he has a good knowledge of education today, besides being fairly popular with students across India. Sathya studied architecture in Bangalore, Master of Urban Design at Delhi and Master of Heritage Conservation at U.K.. During the last 33 years since graduating in architecture, he has been involved in varied activities like teaching, writing, travelling, public speaking, social activism and networking with creative people. His firm designs eco-friendly and contextual architecture, staying sensitive to locale and user aspirations. He brings his vast experience into the School to envision the new beginnings, by integrating decades of thoughts and actions together. He intends to create a generation of thinking architects, by informing, instructing and more importantly, inspiring the students.
After graduating in Architecture from Rashtreya Vidhyalaya, Bangalore, she pursued a Masters Degree in Building Design at Arizona State University, USA. Her research interests and explorations are varied and currently include institutional architecture, alternative construction methods, computation in architecture and design, art, movies, book reading, and teachings methods. Having lived in the US, she gained experience in working on institutional and church architecture. She teaches Architectural Graphics and Architectural design at present.
Bachelors in Architecture from VNIT Nagpur and Masters in Architecture (Conservation) from SPA Bhopal, the area of interest is Research, Heritage Documentation, Conservation, Restoration, Sustainable Architecture, Vernacular Architecture, and Traditional Knowledge Systems. Her area of research focuses on the study and research on Vakataka settlements in Central India. She was a part of listing the Heritage sites of Nagpur and Amravati district, as a part of documentation project for INTACH Nagpur.
Worked and trained with Conservation Architects like Ar. Awantika Chitna(Vidarbha Heritage Society, Nagpur, Ar. Munish Pandit (Sanrakshan Heritage Consultancy, New Delhi) and Ar. Pankaj Modi (Saythu Consultants, Bangalore), which gave an exposure of the typologies of Heritage and Conservation practices in different regions of the country. Taught Architecture in NIT Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh and Interior Design in INIFD Nagpur
Master's in Habitat Management from (CEPT University, Ahmadabad ) Bachelors of Architecture (Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and fine arts university, Hyderabad).
She emphasizes the need for introducing sustainability & universal design into architectural projects as a default. Her distinct set of qualifications, varied skill sets, and exposure to management topics, help her to look at architecture from a fresh and different perspective. She has previously worked with organizations of varied scale, which gives her good exposure to different work patterns. She has been awarded the Best studio award for her work in her Master's ward management studio and was a recipient of the presidential scholarship (Based on merit) for both the years at CEPT. She has earned multiple certificates for being a part of Teacher training programmes. She is also an Accredited professional of the Indian green building council (IGBCAP) and has been certified by ECBC for the Comprehensive training program conducted by them.
Completed his B.Arch from Marathwada Institute of Technology, Aurangabad, (M.H) and M.Arch in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal (M.P), his area of interest are Urban Design, Architectural Design, Architectural Graphics, Model Making and Art.
His area of research focuses on the Urbanism around the Traditional water bodies of the cities in India. He is into Academics from past 4.5 yrs and worked on field for 2 yrs on various projects like hospitals, Schools, Commercial Complexes, Residential and Interior Projetcs etc. He also worked on Urban Projects like redevelopment and uplifting the Versova Koliwada at Bombay, under the firm Bombay 61.
His Art work includes Wall Street art at Indore Railway station on the theme of Remembering 50 Great Indian Women.
Sowmya has completed her Bachelors in Architecture from School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai and a Masters degree in Graduate Architectural Design from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, London. During her Bachelors she interned at Mindspace Architects, Bangalore. She worked with Ar. Benny Kuriakose thereafter. Prior to KS School of Architecture, she was teaching at Crescent School of Architecture, Chennai.
An Architect, Nature enthusiastic, Designer and Artist who is open to learn something new every day. Completed M.Arch Landscape Architecture from School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai & B.Arch from Sasi Creative School of Architecture, Coimbatore. Governing Council member of Bamboo Diaries, Mysore, a community platform working towards greener habitats and eco-friendly construction methodologies in Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala, where, apart from organizing workshops and technical seminars, projects are also undertaken that propagate alternative building materials and methodologies.
With over ten years of professional experience alongside experience in teaching, she tries to bridge the gap between theory and profession. Priya has been the college topper of the Master's program at BMSCA- Bangalore, for Habitat Design and is the recipient of Merit scholarships for academic excellence. She has done her Bachelors degree from Sathyabama College of Engineering, Chennai.
Mr. Ramesh Patil has a post graduate in structural engineering from M.S.Ramaiah Institute of technology, Bangalore. He had worked in industries such as Sobha Developers Pvt Ltd and Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd for 4 years as a Construction engineer after his graduation. He has also worked as a Visiting faculty in Civil Engineering department in B.M.S.College of Engineering, Bangalore for 2 years after his post-graduation. He is very passionate and eager to learn advanced technologies in design and construction of structures and to contribute his knowledge in the development of students. His core interests include Design of RC structures, Concrete Technology, Structural Analysis, Strength of Materials and Prestressed Concrete structures.
Murali Gatti has his Masters in fine arts from Maharaja Saiyajiroa University and has a degree in Bachelor in fine arts at Chitrakala Parishat, Bangalore. His endeavour is to integrate art education into mainstream academics. He strongly believe that art has power to enable young minds to express themselves in the most natural and creative manner. Laying a solid foundation in the arts at an early stage in life can open various possibilities in the overall development of personality. Apart from developing relevant skills necessary for picture creation, art has the magical ability to sensitize, and help in problem solving and enhance critical thinking. Art enables young minds to appreciate their own culture, accept and respect that for others .
As an art educator, he consider it his responsibility to lay a conducive platform to nurture young minds and provide them with the right atmosphere to explore and express themselves. The theme of his thesis during Masters degree was on Child Art. This was instrumental in opening his doors to various possibilities related to teaching, learning, childhood and art. Art and creativity go hand in hand, and as an agent of art, he wish to reach out every young mind I may encounter and cater to his or her needs by undertaking the potent creativity that exist within.
